Polk County Fine Arts FestivalThe DSA Jazz Band will be performing Saturday, April 1st at the Polk County Fine Arts Festival. The festival features school music ensembles and visual art from around Polk County. This event will take place at Munn Park in downtown Lakeland.
This is a great day to watch groups from around the county perform. There will also be student art on display around the park. While students will be released to parents at 1:00 p.m., parents and students are encouraged to stay and listen to other groups. The end of the day will conclude with the Polk County All County High School Jazz Band, The Polk County Directors Jazz Band, and then the Stan Kenton Legacy Band. Students can get extra credit for listening to these ensembles. We are really fortunate to have the Kenton band play this year. Let's come out and support their performance (Students can get extra credit for listening to these ensembles.) This is an outside event. On a nice Florida days it can be very warm. In the past, parents have brought personal pop up tents to block the sun/weather. Feel free to bring one if you have one. Audience members are also encouraged to bring folding chairs and or a blanket to sit on in the grass. Jazz Band Attire
