Pork Before the Turkey
Orders Due Date:Description: |
All ORDERS MUST BE TURNED IN NO LATER THAN Thursday, NOVEMBER 15th
Every year the music department celebrates the November break with a Pork before the Turkey fundraiser. Each student is encouraged to sell at least 1 pork butt to help offset expenses for our department. The funds from this event go towards instrument tuning, instrument repair and replacements, sound equipment needs, sheet music, performance needs, MPA fees, and more. Every dollar made in profit goes toward student needs in the music department.

Cost: |
$35 for one Fully Smoked pork butt estimated at close to 10 lbs each. (The exact weight is an estimate based on the weight before going on the smoker)
|
What does that include?: |
1 fully cooked (slow smoked) pork butt in a foil pan.
Most people can get close to 20 pulled pork sandwiches per pork butt. |
Pick up: |
Pork pick up will be on Thursday, November 21st and Friday, November 22nd from 4:00-5:30 p.m.
This years' exact pick up dates will be determined by the sales that come in. It is strongly recommended that you bring something to transport your pork butt home in...a cooler, towels, possibly a clean garbage bag. The pork butts will be very hot when you pick them up. They will be taken directly off the smoker when you arrive! Pork Butt pick up will be by the garden at Davenport School of the Arts. When you enter the parking lot on campus, turn left and drive towards the fence. You will see/smell the smoker! |
Can you freeze it?: |
Are you traveling over the break? No worries!!! The pork butt can easily freeze for you to enjoy when it is convenient for you and your family. Just seal it in freezer bags in the portion size that works best for your needs. When you have that craving for a good pork sandwich pull out the baggie from the freezer in the morning and it should be ready for your family to enjoy for dinner later in the evening!!!
